eLearnCommerce – Upgrading to the latest from Legacy Versions
This post will walk you through the process to update from any old version to the latest eLearnCommerce versions.
There are 2 simple steps to the upgrade process and each is covered separately below.
Step 1: Installing the Update
Due to the significance of the update, installing the latest eLearnCommerce Version must be done manually and cannot be done through the standard 1-click update process in WordPress.
The latest eLearnCommerce Version is available to all active license holders from your account page. If your license key has expired, you may also renew it from your account page. You must have an active license key and subscription in order to download the latest version
Once you have downloaded the .zip file for the update, you may install it on your Wordpress website through the Plugins > Add New page. If you already have a previous version of eLearnCommerce installed, proceed to step 2 and follow the instructions on how to update an existing plugin from a .zip file.
As soon as the latest version is installed, if it is not already activated, click Activate from the Plugins page.
Step 2: Upload the new file. Traditionally this is a tedious process, but we recommend a plugin called Easy Theme and Plugin Upgrades to make things much easier. First, install that plugin via your WordPress admin interface. Then follow these directions:
1.: Go to Plugins > Add New and click the Upload tab at the top of the page.
2.: Select the zip file for the latest eLearnCommerce Version
3.: Select "Yes" from the "Upgrade existing plugin?" option.
4.: Click "Install Now".
